Danny,
Y'all got some profundity goin' on, my friend - and you're right!

Nothing in my life has been so freeing as realizing that after more than 30 years of living someone else's life, it was OK to not want to be a musician! I still get push-back, a LOT of push-back on that. There are people who truly believe that I am "wasting my life" not doing what my degrees say I "should" be doing, but that is their problem, not mine I have come to realize. Being good at something is no excuse for doing it, if it's not what you love. Life is too short.

Peace

WOW! Danny Boy Griffin, You have nail it again!!!

Just wanted to share with you and members of The Quantum Leaps Family.

No person is ever so much deceived by another, as by themselves. The coward is convinced that he is ONLY being cautious and the miser always thinks he is practicing frugality. Worst of all I have come to believe my excuse so that I willingly sell my days for pennies while consoling myself with thoughts that things could always be worse.

Failure is, in a sense, the Highway to success, inasmuch as every discovery we make of what is false leads us to seek earnestly after what is true and every fresh experience points out some form of error which we shall afterward carefully avoid. The path I walked, often dampened by my tears, has Not been a wasted journey.

NO More! NEVER again will I pity or belittle myself!

It's commonly believed that we humans are the only animals with the ability to imagine and think about ourselves objectively. Well, after listening to this week's Mojo, it seems to me that that may be a curse as well as a blessing. I've been to so-called lesser developed countries where people have not much more than their families, their friends and their god. They don't suffer from stress, envy and depression as is so common here. Their lives are simple and primitive, and, man, is that appealing sometimes when I think about how tangled up we get ourselves in our own self-analysis and self criticism. What are any of us really doing all of this for anyway? When you boil it down to what really matters in life, the reasons to live are clear .... and simple.

I sometimes wonder if these tough times we are going through right now are what make some successful business men/women very hardened. It is why they seem heartless or even rude. It is because of what they have been through. You know, that is what I am going through now. I will strive though to come out of this on the other end with compasion for those going through it.

Thanks Danny, your words always inspire.

Actions speak louder that words - We all have the choice to set a course and move toward change within our lives - let the old Phoenix burn out... Think about it, do we really have time to dwell on the negative aspects in our world? So pick the positive course (of freedom) then EAT THAT FROG and continue to move forward !!

Keep em rolling!
Thanks Danny

Great points. However it turns my thoughts to teenage suicides. We as adults may have what we feel is a burden and unrelenting expectations that we carry around, but young people have yet to begin their life. So, do we (adults), instill such expectations that they just can't cope with the prospect of what lies ahead? I live in a relatively small town in Wyoming. 3 teens took there own lives just last spring. They were part of a "suicide pact"! What? Who makes a pact to end their own life!? So then as parents, leaders, teachers what do we do to encourage kids to choose goals and the right paths without putting a huge burden on their shoulders?

You spoke about hope--about never giving up--and I think it all boils down to our inner desires. It really serves as the anchor or foundation to pursue whatever we want. Whenever things seem to bog me down that vision of what I really want washes away the thought of just giving in to the circumstance. So there's always something to look forward too. It's a pity when a person gets to the edge of sanity and ultimately falling. My thoughts and prayers to him and his family.
