By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination. -Christopher Colombus, (1451-1506), explorer and colonizer, credited with bringing attention to the Americas.

I think I’m being haunted by the subject of time management. I can’t stop thinking about how the struggle with time management always becomes the number one topic of conversation, when we mastermind with Realtors at our super-conferences. People get downright frustrated out of their minds on how to control the chaos of the day. So many of the new faces have a blank and lost look, almost like they have literally washed ashore as the last resort for help. Yet that’s exactly where they need to be to really understand how ridiculously they are wasting time each and everyday…now of course there are real distractions, but it’s the decision to accept or reject them.

So how do super achievers get beyond this point of allowing for distractions? They’re scared! No really, most of the people that I know that are super financially successful are paranoid about something; not necessarily in a bad way either. Many of them have come from absolutely nothing. I remember talking with Adam Oates of former National Hockey League fame. One summer he told me how he had grown up literally rationing out the milk at the breakfast table. My own mentor, Craig Proctor, when polled about why he wanted success so badly referenced growing up with nothing so there was only one way to go and that was up. Once he knew what having more tasted like, he was hooked.

Do you wish to rise? Begin by descending. You plan a tower that would pierce the clouds? Lay first the foundation of humility. Saint Augustine (354-430), philosopher and theologian.

Concentration and mental toughness are the margins of victory. -Bill Russell (1934-), 5 time NBA MVP, 12 time NBA All Star and 11 time NBA champion with the Boston Celtics.

An extravagance is something that your spirit thinks is a necessity. Bern Williams (1913-2004) American writer, columnist

Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working. -Unknown
